The Battle of Tora Bora
The combat sequence in which Jacqueline saves Maximus is set during the real Battle of Tora Bora: the U.S. military operation in December 2001 in which American covert operatives and allied Afghan militiamen pursued Osama bin Laden and al-Qaeda leadership in the mountains of Afghanistan.
